Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK says that;

“For everything in the world, for civilization, for life, for prosperity our true mentor in life is science.”

Atatürk says in his speech in Dumlupınar, on 30 August, 1924; “The first condition of living is to walk through civilization and to succeed. Those who refuse to walk that path and adopt the opposite, are condemned to drown in the stream of civilization.

In the same speech he also says; “It is impossible to subsist with old-fashioned mindsets and dependence on past in an era of new inventions of civilization and science.” “We cannot close our eyes and assume that we are alone. We cannot live without being interested in the world. On the contrary, we are going to live in a civilization field? As a nation. This can only come true with science and knowledge. We are going to be wherever science and knowledge appear and set everyone’s mind. There are no bonds or conditions for science and knowledge.” The improvement of nations that insist on protecting some traditions and beliefs that aren’t based on consistent evidence, is very hard, perhaps impossible. The nations which cannot go beyond conditions of traditions for improvement, cannot see that the life realistically and reasonably. These nations are condemned to live under sovereignty and oppression of the nations that can see life philosophy from a broad perspective.”
